ACB registers case against former Kukatpally sub registrar
The ACB also filed a petition before court and obtained a production warrant against Srinivasa Rao and produced him before court.
Hyderabad: ACB registered a case against former Kukatpally sub registrar Rachakonda Srinivas Rao who was arrested in the Miyapur land scam and suspended. The ACB conducted an enquiry against him for registering lands in Kompally village as agriculture lands instead of registering them as non agricultural lands.
Inquiries revealed that R. Srinivasa Rao while working at SRO Kukatpally registered six sale deeds on April 8, 2013 for 48 acres in Kompally village of Qutubullapur mandal at Rs 82 lakh per acre as agricultural land instead of registering it in square yards for Rs 5,500 per square yard as non agricultural land. The lands were already converted into plots and some of the plots were occupied by parties who had constructed houses. But, Srinivasa Rao registered the above properties as agricultural lands without verifying the pattadar pass books and title deeds. “This registration caused a loss of Rs 16 crore to the exchequer. Since the sub registrar registered the non agriculture land as agricultural land the ACB registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act,1988,” an official release said.
The ACB also filed a petition before court and obtained a production warrant against Srinivasa Rao and produced him before court. He was sent to judicial custody.
