Chennai: Bike-borne chain snatchers rob 2 women of gold chains

Chennai: In two different incidents in the city, two women were relieved of their gold chains by two-wheeler-borne chain snatchers, on Friday.
The first incident reported at Ambattur in which two persons in a two-wheeler snatched a seven sovereign gold chain from Seetha (50), a resident of Kallikuppam near Ambattur when she was on her way to a temple in her neighbourhood on Friday evening. Seetha's husband Moorthy, an employee of Avadi Tank Factory, lodged a complaint at Ambattur police and investigation is on.
Similarly, two bike-borne men snatched a two-sovereign gold chain from Saradha (50) of MGR Nagar in Puzhal when she stepped out to dump trash in front of her house on Friday evening.
Based on her complaint, police have launched a hunt to nab the snatchers. Meanwhile, S.Sharuk, a resident of Royapet was snatched off his mobile on Friday afternoon near Doctor Besant Road by a duo.
Based on the complaint lodged by Sharuk, Ice House police have arrested P.Sivaraj (21) of Pudupet and searching Meganathan, who fled the spot.
K. Vikram (28) of MGR Nagar was arrested by KK Nagar police for snatching a purse from Masarbee (62) of KK Nagar while walking on the 6th street of KK Nagar on Saturday.
