Hyderabad: Police to probe teen bride's age
Meanwhile, nine persons involved in the women trafficking racket were granted police custody by the court.
Hyderabad: The city police is now planning to conduct an age determination test on the teenage girl who was married to an Oman national Ahmed Abdullah Amur Al-Rahbi four months ago.
“The Oman national is taking cover under the passport and Aadhar card of the girl, telling his country officials that she is major. However, we have collected enough evidence that tells us that the girl is a minor,” said ACP, Falaknuma, Mr Mohd Tajuddin Ahmed.
He said that the teenager is reluctant to come to India. The police has already registered a case against the parents of the teenager for marrying off a minor girl. Since there is no clarity on her age, the police have not arrested them.
Meanwhile, nine persons involved in the women trafficking racket were granted police custody by the court. The Falaknuma and Chandrayangutta police shifted them to police stations from the prison on Thursday.
