Members of the public staged a protest at the school demanding the arrest of the principal.
Hyderabad: The eight-year-old boy who was allegedly sodomised by the principal of St Adams High School at Rajendranagar was sent to Niloufer Hospital for medical examination on Friday.
On Thursday, the mother of the boy, who is studying Class II at the school, lodged a complaint against the school principal Ramana alleging sodomy. Members of the public staged a protest at the school demanding the arrest of the principal.
Following the complaint, a case was registered under section 377 of IPC and relevant sections of POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act for the probe.
A police official from Cyberabad police commissionerate said, “The boy was sent for a medical examination yesterday (Thursday). As the reports were not clear to determine if the assault took place, he has been referred to Niloufer Hospital on Friday.”
The report from the Niloufer Hospital is expected on Saturday, based on which further proceedings take place.
