Hyderabad: College lecturer killed in accident

A case was booked against the truck driver.

Hyderabad: A college lecturer died and her husband was gravely injured when the bike they were travelling along with their daughter, was hit  by a speeding truck at Bowenpally on Sunday morning.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Swapna, who taught Chemistry at Sri Chaitanya College’s Kompally branch. 

She was returning home along with her husband Suresh Chary and her daughter Srinidhi, 6 on the bike.

“While they were crossing the road near Dairy Farm by the national highway, a truck approaching the vegetable market at Bowenpally rammed into their vehicle,” said Bowenpally Inspector V. Anand Kishore, adding that Swapna died on the spot while Chary was shifted to hospital. 

A case was booked against the truck driver under section 304A (death by negligence) of the IPC.
