Hyderabad: Mother, 2 daughters attempt suicide after father's death

Tirupati: A devastated wife, along with her two daughters, tried to commit suicide after hearing the death of her husband due to heart attack in Hyderabad on Saturday. The incident happened in Guruthota of Ranganayakulapeta in Nellore, where the trio tried to commit suicide by hanging from the ceiling of their house. 

While the elder daughter succumbed to the suicide attempt, the mother was battling for her life and the younger daughter is said to be in stable condition at a private hotel in Nellore.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as M. Vishnuvardhini, and the mother as M. Sujatha and younger daughter as M. Deepa Sonika. 

“After hearing the death news of her husband, Sujatha, who was devastated with the loss decided to commit suicide along with her two daughters at their residence. They hung from the ceiling of their residence. 

The relatives, who came to the house to console them, found the three hanging and informed the police,” a police officer said.

“The elder daughter died and we shifted the body for autopsy. 

A case has been registered under relevant sections,” the officer added.
