Thiruvananthapuram: While police has been quick to nab two cyber bullies for harassing actor Parvathy, another hapless girl, who received similar online abuses, is awaiting justice. Jazla Madasseri, the Manjeri native who was harassed for participating in a flash mob at the Tagore Theatre during the 22nd IFFK, said that it looked like the police is showing a step motherly attitude towards her case.

Despite the Museum Police registering case on December 13, the culprits are still at large. On Thursday, police nabbed one Rojan from Kollam for threatening Parvathy. On Wednesday, Kochi police had arrested another youth for initiating cyber attack against the actor. However, this swiftness was missing in investigating the online abuses against Jazla.

In fact, the Kerala Women's Commission had asked Malappuram SP Devesh Kumar Behera to submit a report before December 24, which is yet to materialise. Mr Behera told DC that Edavanna police has been able to get three cyber bullies’ names, but no further links could be established. Museum Police, on its part, said it will take more time to zero in on the cyber bullies.

A peeved Jazla said it is unfair that she is still being abused by cyber bullies. "I have been denied justice when the police was supposed to file the report before Christmas. This is gross injustice. I wonder whether there are there two sets of law for a commoner and a celebrity" said Jazla who was hounded by online abusers with rape and death threats. Jazla, who is doing her MBA from Bengaluru, was part of the flash mob organised by the Facebook group Kerala Freethinkers Forum at Tagore Theatre on December 13.
