Two jailed, 30 lose licence in traffic crackdown by Hyderabad traffic police

The Hyderabad traffic police convicted three men for non-payment of challans and cancelled driving licences of 30 other respondents.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad traffic police convicted three men for non-payment of challans and cancelled driving licences of 30 other respondents. 

Two people were also jailed for two days for driving without licence. The respondents who were caught and convicted for drunk driving may likely to face difficulties while applying for government  jobs, passport and also during visa clearance, said a senior police official of Hyderabad traffic. Some 493 chargesheets were filed against drunk drivers who were produced in the court as part of a drive conducted by the traffic department from Monday to Friday last week.

“Ninety-four respondents were booked under drunk driving cases. Apart from imposing fines, driving licences of four persons were cancelled permanently,” said joint commissioner of police, traffic, V. Ravinder.
