Police trace missing girl doing BBA in Kakinada
The girl started from her native place Pithapuram for Kakinada saying she was going to get her hall ticket for examinations
KAKINADA: After hectic efforts over 24 hours, East Godavari district police traced a 21-year-old girl student doing her BBA third year from a private college in Kakinada.
According to police, the girl started from her native place Pithapuram for Kakinada saying she was going to get her hall ticket for examinations. Later, she sent a message to her classmates saying there is something suspicious about the auto in which she is travelling. After a while, her phone came switched off.
On coming to know about it, her parents lodged a complaint with Pithapuram police who registered a missing case on the incident. Superintendent of police M. Ravindranath Babu formed six teams headed by Kakinada DSP V. Bhima Rao. Police traced the girl using the location of her mobile phone. She has been handed over to her parents.
Disappearance of the girl had gone viral on social media. Many, including celebrity singer Gita Madhuri, appealed to people and police to save the student. Several students, both boys and girls, launched their own search for her.
Sources said the girl had gone to meet her Facebook friend in Miryalaguda, who sent her back to Kakinada by bus.
