Hyderabad: Boy warming food on stove dies of burns
The cloth caught fire and came into contact with his clothes and trapped him in fire.
Hyderabad: A 12 year old hungry kid's attempt to cook something for himself in the absence of his parents at home, caught him in a fire accident, leading to his death at Moinabad. The deceased identified as Chakali Sandeep Kumar, was bringing down the dish from the stove with the help of a cloth. However the cloth caught fire and came into contact with his clothes and trapped him in fire. Sandeep received more than 70 percent burns and succumbed to treatment.
According to police, Chakali Ravinder and Shyamala, both making living by washing clothes of the villagers are residing in Surangal village along with their three sons. On Thursday afternoon, neighbours said Sandeep ran out screaming with flames covering his entire body. The neighbors doused the fire and rushed him to a nearby hospital.
As the incident happened when the parents were away from home, they also had little clue about how it happened. “We were at work when a neighbour called to tell us about the incident. We then rushed to the hospital. Sandeep could not speak much to tell us what happened,” the parents said.
