Telangana: 19-year-old student held for raping minor girl

Hyderabad: A 19-year-old degree first year student was arrested by Musheerabad police on Monday for sexually assaulting a minor girl. Police said the student, Marri Pavan Kumar, a resident of Ram Nagar, became friendly with the minor girl, an Intermediate student, and seduced her saying that he was in love with her.

“On January 28 he called the girl to his house in TRT colony in Ramnagar saying that he would introduce her to his parents,” said central zone deputy commissioner of police Joel Davis.  “When she reached his place Pavan closed the doors and sexually assaulted her. The accused then photographed her using his phone and started blackmailing her saying that if she did not agree to come to him whenever he wants he will post the photos in social media,” added Mr Davis.

On March 13 he again took her to a vacant house in Parvanthapuram and sexually assaulted her forcibly without her consent. Musheerabad police arrested Marri Pavan Kuma on Monday and seized his cellphone. Police said he will be produced in court later.
