Kannur: Shanu Chacko, the main accused in the death of Kevin P. Joseph, and his father Chacko John surrendered before the police at Karikottakari police station near Iritty here on Tuesday after moving anticipatory bail petitions in the High Court.  They were absconding since the abduction  of Kevin and his subsequent death. According to police sources, both might have reached the station  through Karnataka which is close to Karikottakari border. Their  arrest was recorded and both were  taken  to Kottayam.

The car in which the duo travelled was also taken into custody.  Shanu and Chacko had planned to flee to Bengaluru but the strong police surveillance forced  them to surrender. The SHO said  that a detailed interrogation of the arrested was  needed to know the conspiracy behind the entire episode.
