Hyderabad: 2 bike lifters held, 15 vehicles recovered
Hyderabad: The sleuths of Medipally in a joint operation with Malkajgiri crime team arrested two persons who were allegedly involved in more than 12 cases in Hyderabad. The police recovered 15 stolen bikes all worth Rs 10 lakh from their possession.
The arrested persons were identified as Gollapudi Chanti, a resident of Vanasthalipuram and Pathlavath Gopal Naik, a resident of Malkagiri.
Following a tip-off, Chanti was nabbed by police when he was trying to escape on a stolen bike in Boduppal.
During interrogation, he confessed that he along with Gopal had stolen 13 two wheelers. Based on his information, DSI of Malkajgiri police Krishnamal along with his crime team arrested Gopal near R.K. Nagar and recovered the stolen vehicles.
Disclosing the details, Krishnamal said Chanti along with his family members shifted to Hyderabad and started working as a watchman in Laxminagar colony. "Chanti and Gopal hatched a plan to earn easy money by committing property offences. They committed their first vehicle theft in Suryapet. Since then they had stolen 13 two-wheelers in different places," he said.
