Burglar gang held while attempting break-in near Attingal

The gang has cases against them for thefts in houses and religious institutions in 20 locations in Thiruvananthapuram.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram rural police arrested a notorious thief and three aides while they were attempting to break into a premise near Thripporittakavu temple, Panaya,  near Attingal on Friday. They were identified as Vinod alias Kaakka Vinod, Kalluvila house, Kulanjipoika, Kumbhakad,  and his aides Abhilash, 25, of Manamboor; Joshi, 33, and Dineshan, 33, of Edava.

The gang members have cases registered against them for thefts in houses and religious institutions in around 20 locations across the district. Kaakka Vinod had earlier escaped from police custody by jumping into a river in Thrissur while being taken to a court there.  The rural shadow police team and a team led by Attingal DySP Ajith Kumar arrested the accused.
