Chennai:Techie loses golden retriever, goes to cops
Sharath\'s family and friends have been searching for the dog at various locations including places where pets are being sold.
Chennai: A techie here has sought the help of the city police and people to trace his pet dog, a 5-year-old golden retriever that was stolen by two persons from his house in T. Nagar on Friday. Sources said the accused used a cab attached to a taxi aggregator to take away the pet.
According to police, an employee of an IT firm, Sharath Ravi, resident of North Usman road, lodged a complaint with the Pondy Bazaar police to trace his missing pet Jackie.
The dog was taken away from outside his house by 12:11 pm on Saturday. A CCTV footage from the neighbourhood showed a man, believed to be the driver of a call taxi, wooing the dog, which was standing on the road, with some snacks.
Quoting the owner, police said, “A woman was sitting inside the car. She was also seen walking around the car with the dog. After she got in, the driver, wearing a white T-shirt, pushed the dog inside and closed the door and fled the spot.”
Sharath's family and friends have been searching for the dog at various locations including places where pets are being sold. But they could not find the dog anywhere.
On Saturday, Sharath lodged a complaint with the police and also sought help on social media to trace the dog. He has uploaded the CCTV footage on his social media accounts also.
