Hyderabad: Kidnappers take Rs 1 crore ransom
Man helped by same friend who met him last.
Hyderabad: A city-based financier was allegedly kidnapped by three unidentified persons on Sunday night. They released him after they received ransom money of rupees one crore.
Based on a complaint from the victim, the Chikkadpally police booked a case and further investigation is underway.
According to police, P. Gajendra Prasad, 40, an automobile financier stays in Himayatnagar and his office is at Domalguda.
On Sunday night at around 10.30 pm, he came to Domalguda to meet his friend. While he was near AV College, Domalguda, three assailants came in a car and kidnapped him.
Chikkadpally Inspector S. Venkat Reddy said, “They forced him to sit in the passenger seat and took him away. As per his statements, the assailants drove the car for about 45 minutes from the scene of offence and took him towards the outskirts of the city. They put a mask on his face so that he could not identify them. Later they detained him in a room, made him call his friend and demanded Rs 3 crore for his safe release.”
The friend arranged rupees one crore, the kidnappers took the money from him in Abids and left the victim in the same area at some distance.
The Chikkadpally police registered a case and further investigation is on.
Reportedly, police are checking the veracity of the story and have formed special teams along with the task force to nab the kidnappers.
