Gang robs man of Rs 10.8 lakh in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: An employee of an iron and steel wholesale firm was assaulted and robbed of Rs 10.8 lakh at knife point in the city on Wednesday.
The incident took place around 7.30 pm when the employee, Ramesh Chauhan, was returning to office in Ranganatha Colony near Mysuru Road, after collecting dues from some retailers. Due to Cauvery related protests, the firm was not able to collect money from buyers. On Wednesday, Chauhan went to many retailers at Nagarthpet, who had purchased steel from them, and collected Rs 10.8 lakh. He kept the cash in a bag and locked it in the boot of his scooter. At Mysuru Road flyover, four men on two bikes picked a fight with Chauhan and snatched the cash bag at knife point.
