Bengaluru: 3 burglars rented cars to rob shops

The entire act was caught on a CCTV camera, which helped the police to track the accused.

The police have recovered stolen goods and remanded the trio in judicial custody.

Bengaluru: Three burglars who used to hire self-driven rental cars and stole valuables from shops and other commercial establishments have been arrested by Varthur police.

The police have identified the burglars as Veerendra Singh, Vinod Sirvi and Gopal Singh. The accused used to rent a car from Zoom Car and recce Whitefield area to identify the potential targets. They would carry out the burglary at night and decamp with valuables in the rented car.

The police said that recently they had targeted a medical shop and decamped with cosmetics and other goods worth Rs 9 lakh. 

The entire act was caught on a CCTV camera, which helped the police to track the accused. The police analysed the CCTV footage captured from surrounding areas, after the medical shop owner filed a complaint. Based on the footage the police rushed to the rental car agency and based on their information, the police arrested the accused. The police have recovered stolen goods and remanded the trio in judicial custody.
