Nine-year-old minor physically assaulted by her father
HYDERABAD: The Banjara Hills police arrested a 40-year-old religious leader for allegedly sexually assaulting his youngest daughter, who is nine years old, at his house in Banjara Hills on September 24.
The victim told her neighbour who called the police. The cops rescued the girl and shifted her to a Bharosa centre. According to the victim's relatives, she had injuries on her body. “Our women staff counselled the victim in the presence of her family members,” M. Narrender, Banjara Hills police inspector said.
According to police sources, the child was born before the marriage of the accused. They said accused and the child’s mother were in love for 12 years. The couple married five years ago and divorced three years ago, after his wife lodged a complaint against him with the Women's Police Station (WPS). A year ago, he pleaded with his wife and started living together with his family members.
Police have registered a case of outraging the modesty under Section 354 IPC and Sections 7 and 8 of the Pocso Act.
