Courier boy held for harassing woman in Bengaluru

The accused has been identified as, Sayed Irfan, who worked at a private company as a courier delivery man.

The Koramangala police have arrested two people, including a fake journalist, on charges of drug peddling and seized one kg of charas worth Rs 3 lakh from the accused.

BENGALURU: A 38-year-old courier delivery man was arrested for sexually harassing a 22-year-old woman at her residence in Banashankari police station limits on Wednesday afternoon. 

The accused has been identified as, Sayed Irfan, who worked at a private company as a courier delivery man. 

The woman, a resident of Jaynagar 7th block, and a private company employee and her roommate, a fashion designing student, were repeatedly harassed by Irfan, who used to frequent visit their house and make lewd gestures.

He first visited her house on November 23 and told her that he had to deliver a courier and had come to the wrong address. After she shut the door, he returned and began knocking the door again. When she opened the door he made lewd hand signs and opening the fly of his trousers. 

The panic stricken woman and her roommate raised an alarm, which drew the attention of neighbours and he fled.

He visited their house again twice on Monday and Tuesday. The woman wrote down his vehicle number and filed a police complaint.

The police checked the CCTV footage where the entire incident took place and caught the accused.

The Banashankari police, who had registered the case, arrested the accused within 24 hours.
