Bengaluru: Maid commits suicide following theft allegation

Bengaluru: A maid set herself ablaze after allegedly being accused of stealing gold bracelet from her master in Viveknagar police station limits on Friday night.
The deceased has been identified as G. Tangamani, a resident of Ejipura and worked as a maid at the residence of Sandya, a doctor who runs a clinic in Koramangala.
Tangamani has been working at Sandya’s house, from morning till noon, for the past 12 years.
According to the police, when Sandya’s golden bracelet went missing, she filed a police complaint and had stated that she suspected Tangamani.
On Friday night, two men who claimed they were from the police department, visited Tangamani’s residence and started questioning her. After they left, a depressed Tangamani set herself ablaze inside her residence. The police said they have taken a complaint from Gopi, her husband, and are trying to get in touch with Sandya, whose mobile phone was switched off.
