Vemuri Pavan Kumar jailed in cheque case
A city court convicted Netone Nenuntaa movie hero Vemuri Pavan Kumar in a cheque bounce case.
Hyderabad: A city court convicted Netone Nenuntaa movie hero Vemuri Pavan Kumar in a cheque bounce case, and sentenced him to one year simple imprisonment. The court also ordered him to pay Rs 1.5 crore as compensation to victim Akella Saikumar, a businessman from KPHB. Nearly three years ago, Pavan burrowed Rs 1.5 crore from Saikumar for business and personal needs.
Later, Pavan issued cheques for Rs 1.5 crore to Saikumar, which when presented at bank bounced due to shortage of funds. Saikumar filed a petition at the Miyapur court and the court after trial, sentenced Pavan Kumar to one year simple imprisonment and also ordered him to pay Rs 1.5 crore as compensation. Pavan Kumar challenged the order at the XIV Additional Metropol-itan Magistrate court a year ago. After the trial the court gave its judgement on Monday endorsing the orders of the Miyapur court. The judge issued a NBW against Pavan, who is now absconding. Pavan played the lead role in Nitone Nenuntaa and character roles in some other movies.
