Hyderabad: Depressed at not getting enough money to start a business, a 28-year-old man committed suicide by consuming pesticide at a village near Moinabad, after sending a message to his friends.

Kantham Bharat Reddy (28), a native of Regadi Ghanpur of Chevella mandal, was working as a private employee at Langer Houz and was staying in a room. His parents were also farmers.

About a month ago, Bharat quit his job and wanted to start a business. Last week, he went home and asked his father K. Venkat Reddy for money. Mr Venkat Reddy informed Bharat that they would get money after selling the crops. Bharat had a tiff with his parents and returned to the city.

On Tuesday evening, he went to the outskirts of Reddipally on his bike. At around 6 pm, he sent a text message to a friend stating that as he was unable to raise money for his business he was ending his life. Bharat's friend approached the Langer Houz police.

Langar Houz inspector Ch Srinivas said, "We traced his mobile number's last live location. However, he had turned off the mobile at Reddipally. A team along with Bharat's friend went to Moinabad and searched for him till night, but could not find him."

Moinabad inspector G Venkateshwarlu said that a team of Langar Houz police and Moinabad police searched for Bharat till about 2 am on Wednesday. While checking CCTV footage, Bharat was seen travelling towards Veerannapet, he said. On Wednesday noon, the missing man was found dead in the fields on the outskirts of Veerannapet, according to the police.
