Woman, Father held for killing man with grinding stone in Odisha

Investigation is in progress and prolonged family dispute is suspected to be the cause of the incident.

Berhampur: A woman and her father were detained by the police after her husband was allegedly killed with a grinding stone at Gandala in Hinjili area of Odisha's Ganjam district on Wednesday, police said.

Police recovered the body of Padmanav Sahu (38) from his house and detained Kumuddini and Subash Sahu, wife and father in law of the deceased respectively, they said.

Subash also suffered minor injuries, the police said.

Investigation is in progress and prolonged family dispute was suspected to be the cause of the incident, said Inspector In-Charge of Hinjili police station, P K Sahu.

The police said the incident had taken place after their children - a 10-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter - went to the school at about 10 am. Padmanav and Kumuddini were married in 2002.
