Land grab bid: Banasawadi police register FIR against nine cops

The Banasawadi police have registered an FIR against 19 people, including nine policemen, following a court direction.

Bengaluru: Nine policemen, including an inspector, attached to Banasawadi police station are in the dock for allegedly creating fake property documents and harassing a woman.

The Banasawadi police have registered an FIR against 19 people, including nine policemen, following a court direction.

A 34-year-old woman had filed a private complaint in the court seeking direction to the police to investigate the case. She had alleged that the accused had created fake documents related to her property, to appear as if she had sold it. With those documents, they were allegedly forcing her to vacate the house.

After she had approached the court, the accused had reportedly threatened her. The alleged incidents took place in September last year.

After hearing her complaint, the 17th City Civil & Sessions court issued direction to the Banasawadi police to register an FIR against the accused and begin investigation.

The policemen named in the FIR are Munikrishna, inspector, Banasawadi, his staff Sunitha, Cheluvaraju, H.V. Muniraju, Umesh, Babu, Basavalingappa, S.M. Khadri and M. Chowdappa.
