Miyapur land scam: Prasad's family named in FIR
The scam was originally regarding 693 acres of government land illegally transferred to private firms.
Hyderabad: The Crime Investigation Department will take over the investigations into the Miyapur land scam on the orders of the Telangana state Government. Businessman P.S. Prasad’s wife Indrani Prasad and his daughter Mahitha Caddel have been named in the FIR.
The complicity of more government officials has come to light and police on Tuesday registered cases against Balanagar sub-registrar Mohammed Yousuf and Medchal sub-registrar Ramesh Chandra Reddy. The scam was originally regarding 693 acres of government land illegally transferred to private firms.
Three men likely to get bail
The two sub-registrars booked on Tuesday had allegedly helped to transfer another 119 acres (in two other survey numbers) to the companies.
The Cyberabad police received new complaints against these two officials from the district registrar N. Saidi Reddy alleging their involvement.
According to the report filed by the Cyberabad police in a local court, businessman P.S. Prasad’s wife Indrani Prasad and his daughter Mahitha Caddel have been named in the FIR as fifth and sixth accused. Investigating officers say that both the women are listed as absconding and teams have been dispatched to arrest them.
“They are nowhere to be seen in Hyderabad. We have mentioned them as absconding in the report,” said Madhapur DCP Vishwa Prasad. A local court rejected the police petition to take custody of the three men.
