Special Operation Team held two for sand filtering

All the seized property and the accused have been handed over to the Pahadi Shareef police for further investigation.

Hyderabad: Special Operation Team of LB nagar raided sand filtering units on Wednesday at Mankal and took into custody two people for filtering soil and selling the same in the market. 

Rachakonda Additional DCP of SOT,  Syed Rafeeq, identified the accused as Kavali Dhanaiah, 55, and Kavali Ravindhar, 30, who own a lorry and also work as lorry drivers.

The SOT officials of the LB Nagar and local police team working on the information given by sources conducted a raid and found the accused indulging in sand filtering.

“The accused would procure soil from different villages and bring it to Mankal, which is under the limits of Pahadi Shareef police station. They would then filter the soil into sand using water pumps and make the sale to gullible public,” informed the official.

The officials seized a loaded sand lorry, a water pump and a pipe from the accused.
