Andhra Pradesh soldier killed at Alwar
Nagaraju's father M. Sivaiah, who works as a washerman, said Nagaraju joined the Army in 2007.
Guntur: Madukuri Nagaraju, a soldier from Tsundur in Guntur district, was killed at the military base of the 16 Medium Artillery Regiment at Alwar district of Rajasthan on Saturday.
Tsundur tahsildar I. Edward said that he was informed of the death of Nagaraju, 29, by the regiment, and that he had informed the family. He said the body would arrive late on Sunday night, and the last rites would be performed at Tsundur on Monday.
Nagaraju's father M. Sivaiah, who works as a washerman, said Nagaraju joined the Army in 2007. Nagaraju is survived by his wife Seethamahalakshmi, who is nine months pregnant and his three-year-old son Siva Kumar. Nagaraju had promised to visit home after the delivery, Mr Sivaiah said.
Nagaraju’s elder brother Venkata Narayana lives in Tsundur and younger brother Krishnaiah is in the Army. Mr Venkata Narayana said the family was not told about the cause of death.
