SI, ASI thrash Class X student in Mahbubnagar district

Hyderabad: A Class X student was allegedly caned by the sub-inspector and assistant sub-inspector of Midjil police station in Mahbubnagar district.
The boy who studies at the ZP High School in the town, suffered severe injuries to his buttocks, hands and one leg and is said to be unable to walk. His relatives approached an NGO, which took up the issue with the Mahbubnagar SP and an inquiry has been ordered.
Two days back, an assistant teacher at the school was suspended by the district education officer after receiving a picture from the students that showed him sleeping in class. Sources said that the SI was known to the assistant teacher and had caned the boy at his behest.
His relatives said that he is not in a situation to walk and they had treated him at the clinic of a local doctor. “We did not file a complaint, as it would be against the police and we will not get justice. We will approach the SP and submit a complaint to him,” the boy’s cousin said.
