Man sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting minor girl

Visakhapatnam: A special court appointed to hear cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act sentenced Uppada Santosh Kumar to 20 years in prison and a fine of Rs 20,000. The court also ordered Rs 1 lakh as compensation to the victim girl.

The court found Santosh Kumar guilty of sexually assaulting a girl in Naupada mandal in Visakhapatnam district. The incident took place in 2022. The girl's parents filed a complaint with the Naupada police, who registered a case and arrested Santosh Kumar.

During the trial, the prosecution produced witnesses and evidence to prove the charges against Santosh Kumar.
