13 arrested for gambling, Rs 73,000 seized in Hyderabad

The accused rented a flat for playing cards illegally and invited several punters who wanted to make easy money.

Hyderabad: North Zone Task Force Team arrested 13 people for gambling at Bowenpally on Monday. 

The accused rented a flat for playing cards illegally and invited several punters who wanted to make easy money. 

Each game was played for Rs 1,500. The main organiser Bhushan Kumar alias Sonu along with his associate Nagam Satish rented the flat in the name of Omprakash.

During the early hours of Monday, C. Shashidhar Raju, DCP of Co-mmissioner Task Force and his team nabbed the organisers and recovered Rs 73,260, 4 sets of cards and 9 cell phones from their possession.

The Task Force handed over the accused along with the seized material to the concerned officials, who further booked them under relevant sections of IPC and Gaming Act.
