Kumar came to Bengaluru a few years ago and was staying at Vinayaka paying guest accommodation. He allegedly took loans from private lenders and did not return them. When the lenders started pestering him to repay the money, and allegedly threatened him, he took the extreme step, the police said.

He had even changed his PG to escape from the lenders, but they tracked him down and continued to harass him. He finished his night shift on Monday night and returned to his room where he committed suicide.

The police shifted his body for postmortem and informed his family. No suicide note was found at the spot. Electronic City police registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating.
