NCB searches Mumbai resort in connection with Bollywood-drug nexus case
The NCB, Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are all conducting a probe into the suicide.
Mumbai, Oct. 30 : The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) conducted searches at a Mumbai based resort in connection with the actor Sushant Singh Rajput suicide probe, where he had stayed for days and had many visitors. The officials will also question Karishma Prakash, manager of actor Deepika Padukone after the NCB found cannabis from her residence two days ago.
The NCB had earlier visited the Waterstone Resort located at Andheri in late August as a part of the investigation in the case. The officials had found that after Rajput returned from Europe tour, he had stayed at the resort for two months before shifting to his Bandra residence, where he was found dead on June 14.
The officials had then questioned the staffers at the resort about the actor’s stay and who was accompanying him. The investigators had found that there were and if there were any visitors who came to meet him while he stayed there. The NCB had also collected the CCTV camera footage from the resort.
“The case is being probed and investigation is underway on various angles yet,” said an officer.
The NCB also summoned Karishma Prakash after the raid at her Versova residence led to the seizure of cannabis and cannabis oil. The officials will grill her in connection with the seizure of the narcotics substances found in consumption quantities and the source of the same.
The NCB, Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are all conducting a probe into the suicide. The NCB grilled film actors including Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh in the case. The ED has not found any evidence of laundering of funds of the deceased actor, as per the claims of his family, based in Bihar.
