Student held for sexual assault in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A minor girl was sexually assaulted by her alleged lover, a 19-year-old intermediate student, at an empty hostel in Kadthal. The Rein Bazar police arrested the student, Naser Baba, for kidnapping and sexually assaulting the victim on Saturday.

The student is from Riyasath Nagar and his cousin, Mohammed Abbas, helped him with the accommodation at girls’ hostel when the inmates were away on vacation, said the police. Abbas is at large.  

“On Tuesday morning, Naser asked her to meet him to marry. Accepting his proposal, she met him around 7:30 pm at Yakutpura, where Naser asked Abbas to arrange a shelter for them,” said B. Anand, ACP Mirchowk.

“A room was arranged for them and later in the night Naser sexually assaulted her. On Wednesday, she reached home and informed about it to her mother,” added the ACP. Based on a complaint from the victim’s mother, a case was booked and Naser was arrested.
