Adoni brothers busted in cross-border ganja operation: Bellary police net 50 kg

Police allege the brothers from Adoni mandal have been cultivating ganja for the past two years, cleverly disguising it within their green chili fields.

Kurnool: In a significant bust, Bellary police have arrested two brothers from Andhra Pradesh for cultivating and selling ganja. The operation, conducted on Tuesday in Adoni mandal, netted a seizure of 50 kilograms of dry ganja.The accused, Ravi and Chandra, hail from Santhekudluru village, which straddles the border between Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Police allege the brothers have been cultivating ganja for the past two years, cleverly disguising it within their green chili fields.

Their illicit operation involved transporting the ganja across the border to Bellary town in Karnataka, where they sold it to users and retailers.

The arrests stem from an ongoing investigation into a ganja smuggling case. Acting on a tip from an apprehended user, the Cowl Bazar police of Bellary zeroed in on Santhekudluru village. A raid on the brothers' residence yielded the sizeable stash of ganja, which was promptly seized.
