Bhadadri-Kothagudem: The deputy tahsildar of Cherla mandal was caught red-handed in his office by the sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), when he was accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a farmer for the issuance of a “pattadar” passbook.
Deputy tahsildar Bheeravelli Bharani Babu allegedly asked the farmer Karla Rambabau, a native of Dhandumpet, for bribe money of Rs 50,000 for issuing the “pattadar” passbook of his land. The farmer agreed to give Rs 20,000 to the revenue official. But before handing him over the amount, Karla Rambabau approached the ACB officials.
The ACB officials then laid a trap and caught the revenue official while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant.
