UP Couple Dupes People of Rs 400 crore
Hyderabad: A couple has duped lawyers, students, traders, and several others of Rs 400 crore by promising returns on investing in real estate business in the Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh, and fled.
According to the officials, the couple persuaded people to invest in properties and later absconded with the money.
The Police have registered an FIR against the company, Niharika Ventures, its owner Abhishek Dwivedi, his wife Niharika, and also his father Om Prakash. Several police units have also been assembled to trace the couple.
According to the victims, The Company was formed two years ago and they promised returns on investments in the real estate business.
Properties in various parts of the district were used to lure the investors.
Over the course of two years, over 200 individuals made investments in the company and even encouraged friends and relatives to do the same.
According to police officials, 221 victims of fraud have come forward till now.
