VISAKHAPATNAM: Three minor youth holding a grudge set afire Semala Nagabhushanam (35), a supervisor at INS Kalinga, at Chikalpada village in Bheemili mandal of Visakhapatnam district.

Nagabhushanam’s neighbours rushed him to King George Hospital (KGH), where he died on Wednesday night while undergoing treatment.

INS Kalinga prepares, stores and delivers advanced missiles to ships of the Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet.

Bheemili circle inspector D. Ramesh disclosed that a previous altercation had led to the ghastly incident.

Nagabhushanam resided in Uppada with his family. He recently confronted a group of boys from the SC Colony and Dibbadipalem villages for behaving in an unruly manner near his house, particularly drinking in front of his house and staring at his wife and daughters.

The confrontation festered into a grudge among the boys. They approached Nagabhushanam’s residence at night and doused him with a flammable substance, believed to be a thinner used in paints, before setting him alight.

Nagabhushanam sustained severe burn injuries, which caused his death.

Bheemili police have taken the accused minors into custody. A case has been registered against them.
