Vizag MLA fined for unauthorised college relocation, faces probe for liquor distribution
Visakhapatnam: The Regional Inspection Office (RIO) of the Board of Intermediate Education dealt a double blow to Visakhapatnam MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar on Friday. He was slapped with a fine of Rs. 2.5 lakh for unlawfully shifting his institution, Ramabanam Junior College, from its designated premises in Old Town to Asilmetta, where his party office is located.
RIO K. Satyanarayana further disclosed that a separate notice would soon be issued to the MLA for the alleged distribution of liquor bottles inside the college classroom during the recent Kanuma festival celebrations. He stated, "We're currently focusing on finalising exam schedules, but the notice regarding the liquor incident should be issued within a day or two."
This development follows accusations against the MLA for organising the distribution of liquor and chicken to around 400 party workers within the college premises during the festive occasion.
