Hyderabad is set to get its first IKEA store of the country in 2017.
Osmania University will be celebrating its centenary in April of 2017. The university has planned to invite President Pranab Mukherjee or Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the three-day inaugural gala of the university starting on April 26. The university has charted a plan to spend Rs 402 crore to develop the university for the celebrations. But it has not received any money for the event so far.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority will implement the Rs 160 crore Highway Traffic Management System to provide real-time alerts about traffic flow, weather conditions and information of any accident on the ORR.
The massive IKEA store in city by the second half of 2017
Hyderabad is set to get its first IKEA store of the country in 2017. The Swedish global furniture retailing giant is gearing up to open store in the second half of 2017 in Raidurg, the IT Hub of Hyderabad’s HITEC city.
New Governor for AP and TS
The term of Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan will end in May. Mr Narasimhan was first appointed as Governor of Chhattisgarh in 2007 transferred to undivided AP State in December 2009. In 2012, he was reappointed for a fresh term. After bifurcation, he became the Governor of TS and AP. The High Court could get a permanent Chief Justice; Justice Ramesh Ranganathan is the acting Chief Justice.
New Assembly Buildings for AP will function from Velagapudi, in the temporary capital area. Presently Assembly sessions are being held from Hyderabad in the existing Assembly buildings. Muchumarri lift scheme from River Krishna to supply waters to KC Canal system will be inaugurated in 2017. Gandikota Reservoir and supply of Krishna waters to Pulivendula area on Kadapa district to happen this year.
The Metro question! Hanging fire over a couple of years, the big question is will the Metro Rail service be started at least in the completed sections — Uppal to Mettuguda and Miyapur to SR Nagar. Metro Rail officials are not certain if the service will be launched in November 2017; the date has been pushed back to April 2018.
