Hyderabad: Kid survives fall from first floor
Father said kid slipped from hand.
Hyderabad: In a miraculous escape, an eight-month baby who fell from the first floor of a residential building at Nacharam survived with minor injuries. In another incident, a construction worker who fell from the ninth floor of an under-construction building at Kukatpally escaped without injuries on Monday.
The baby was the daughter of Manoj, a DCM driver hailing from Maharashtra and wife Jahnavi who stay in Narsimhanagar at Nacharam in Mallapur. On Tuesday night, the baby accidentally slipped from Manoj’s hand and fell to the ground floor. She sustained bruises but no bleeding injuries. She was rushed to Gandhi Hospital where doctors confirmed that the baby was out of danger. Nacharam inspector M. Mahesh said, “The baby accidentally fell from the hands of her father Manoj. Initially rumours were spread that Manoj threw the baby after a fight with his wife. The couple denied this and said it was an accident. No case has been registered.”
In the incident at Kukatpally, Arun Kumar, 25, a migrant labourer from Maharashtra fell from the ninth floor of an under-construction building at Khaitlapur. The building works are of government’s prestigious double-bedroom project. Kukatpally sub-inspector K. Bhanu Prasad said, “Arun Kumar along with other labourers was working on the ninth floor of the under-construction building to remove centring material. He slipped and fell from the ninth floor to fall on a huge sand heap on the ground.” Mr Prasad said Mr Kumar received bruises and was admitted to Anupama Hospital in KPHB for treatment and is said to be out of danger. “A petition will be taken from him about the incident and we will register a case if necessary,” Mr Prasad said.
