Udupi: Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna has written a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah asking the declaration of a public holiday on January 22, which marks the Prana Pratista Day of Sri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.

He has posted the letter, written on January 1, on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

In his letter, Suvarna highlighted the significance of January 22, as it marks the realization of the dreams of millions of Indians with the grand inauguration of the Ram Mandir and the Prana Pratista ceremony. He emphasized that this historic moment would be etched in the annals of history.

The MLA conveyed that, on this sacred day, devotees of Rama intend to celebrate by organizing various programs at homes, temples, and organizations through special pooja, sankirtan, and Anna Dan.

"To facilitate individuals in offering seva to Sri Rama and seeking the blessings of the Almighty, I urge the declaration of a general holiday on January 22 for schools, government offices, banks, and other organizations," he asserted.
