Hyderabad: IT minister K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday said that the development of Hyderabad was a continuous process since the Qutub Shahi regime and no one could claim credit for the development of the city.

Speaking at “Celebrating the spirit of Hyderabad” at Park Hayat, he said that the Telugu Desam (TD) president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minsiter N. Chandrababu Naidu might have played a part during the TD rule but construction of flyovers were not what development was all about.

He said, “Today I am in power and developing the city, but tomorrow some others may take part in development. Development of IT during Mr Naidu’s period was a boon to IT industries.

But if Mr Naidu claims the development of IT in Hyderabad, who developed IT in Bengaluru, which tops the sector, Mr S.M. Krishna or others are not claiming it,” he said.

The minister said that the government would construct 11 expressways and one among them would be a six-lane road from Manchirevula to Nagole along the Musi River under the Strategic Road Development Project.

“We are planning one  water body at Shamirpet and another at Rachakonda at a cost of Rs 7,500 crore.”

The minister said that 4,700 MW power was being generated in TS and about 2,100MW was being procured from other sources which made Hyderabad an uninterrupted power supply city.
