P Jayarajan to file appeal in Kerala High Court today
Jayarajan is the 25th accused in the case.
KANNUR: CPM Kannur district secretary P. Jayarajan is likely to file appeal in the High court on Monday against the Thalasserry sessions court’s refusal of bail in the murder case of RSS leader E. Manoj.
The bail was rejected on the ground that UAPA was charged against the CPM leader. Jayarajan is the 25th accused in the case.
Jayarajan’s advocate P. Vishwan said that the appeal would focus on three things.
“Firstly, the sessions court has dismissed the anticipatory bail on technical grounds, not entering to the merit of the case. Secondly, our argument to go through the case diary has not been heeded. Finally, we will cite the several court verdicts which had given bail in similar cases,” he said.
Meanwhile, the hearing on CBI’s appeal to transfer case from Thalasserry to Ernaku-lam has been posted to February 3 in SC.
