57,923 candidates qualify in written test for SI recruitment

VIJAYAWADA: The results of the preliminary written examination for SCT-SI posts in Andhra Pradesh released on Tuesday showed 57,923 candidates qualified out of the total 1,51,288 who had appeared for the test.

AP state-level police recruitment board chairman Manish Kumar Sinha said these posts covered civil, men and women; and SCT reserve sub-inspectors (APSP) (men. The results are available on the website ‘slprb.ap.gov.in.’

The preliminary test was conducted on Feb 19 at 291 centres across 13 towns/cities in AP. The qualifying marks in each paper for OC were 40%, BC 35%, SC, ST and ex-servicemen 30%.

If a candidate fails to secure qualifying marks even in one paper, he/she will be disqualified. Total marks for these two papers will not be counted for qualification. “The result is subject to producing the relevant certificate by the candidate at the time of PMT/PET,” the release added.

Manish Kumar said the preliminary answer key was released on Feb 20. As many as 1,553 objections were received.

The subject experts verified each of the objections. There were no changes in the answer key to the first paper. However, one question in the second paper has multiple correct answers. The final answer key was placed on the website for ready reference. The scanned OMR sheet will be available on the website till 11 am on March 4 for download.

APSLPRB chairman has advised the candidates to frequently visit the website (slprb.ap.gov.in) for further updates. The registration for PMT /PET (Stage II online application process) shall begin shortly. For any clarification, candidates may send an email to SCTSI-PWT@slprb.appolice.gov.in
