Telangana: Truckers to stop moving essentials too

Presenting a charter of demands to the State Transport Minister, MR Vijaya Bhaskar, Tamil Nadu state lorry owners association members put forth three demands: Reduction in RTO fees, VAT and making speed governors non-mandatory.

Hyderabad: Telangana State Lorry Owners Association, on day-2 of its indefinite strike, announced on Friday that it would stop moving essential commodities like vegetables from Monday to intensify the stir.

Association president N. Bhaskar Reddy said that 90 per cent of the trucks in the state did not operate on Friday and 10 per cent were for supplying of essentials and medical goods. “On Saturday, we will hold a meeting in LB Nagar that will be followed by a rally of association members,” he said.
