Rain to continue over Bengaluru today
The weather department predicted that on April 1, the maximum and minimum temperatures will hover between 33 and 21 degrees Celsius
BENGALURU: Heavy thunderstorms will continue over the city for the next 24 hours, predicted the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Bengaluru.
Mr Sundar M. Metri, IMD, Bengaluru chief, said, "The presence of trough in the southern region of Karnataka holds the atmospheric pressure, resulting in thunderstorms. It will continue even on Sunday.”
South-interior parts of Karnataka, like Hassan, Chikkaballapura, B.R. hills and Tumakuru, have been witnessing rain, while dry weather is prevailing over coastal and north-interior Karnataka, he said.
Bengaluru Urban received 3.4 mm of rainfall on Saturday, while since March 1 the city has received 48mm of rainfall.

On Friday, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDC) had predicted heavy rains till April 7. Mr Srinivasa Reddy, director, KSNDC, said, “Due to upper air circulation in Arabian sea and Bay of Bengal, parts of the city will receive rainfall."
