K Chandrasekhar Rao to fulfil his vow, gift golden crown
The state government had decided to present a Rs 5 crore necklace to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala.
KARIMNAGAR: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will fulfil his promise by gifting golden crown to goddess Shubhananda Devi of Sri Kaleshwara-Muktheshwara Swamy temple of Kaleshwaram during his visit to the shrine on May 2. He had promised that he would present the goddess with the crown from his own money, if his party was voted to power at a public rally during 2014 General Elections.
Mr Rao will gift the crown to the goddess while performing special prayers at the ancient shrine. Then, he will proceed for laying foundation stone to a barrage to be erected at Medigadda under Kalehwaram Lift Irrigation Project, designed under reengineering of Pranahita-Chevella project.
During a Cabinet meeting held on December 31, 2015, the state government had decided to present a Rs 5 crore necklace to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala. Similarly, a nose stud each to the Kanakadurga temple in Vijayawada and Padmavathi temple in Tiruchanur, gold crown to the Bhadrakali temple in Warangal, golden moustaches for Veerabhadra Swamy temple at Kuravi in Mahbubnagar district.
