Congman files case against Suraj Revanna's son
Mr Deve Gowda too had trounced Mr Puttaswamy Gowda in a couple of elections.
Hassan: A case against Suraj Revanna, elder son of former minister H D Revanna and JD (S) nominee in Holenarasipur constituency, was filed at Channarayapatna rural police station for hurling stones at a car belonging to Congress Zilla Panchayat member Shreyas Patel, on Monday.
The case has been booked against Dr Suraj based on a complaint filed by Mr Shreyas Patel, grandson of late Lok Sabha member G Puttaswamy Gowda, and beta noire of JD (S) patriarch H D Deve Gowda.
The rivalry between families of Mr Deve Gowda and Mr Puttaswamy Gowda in Holenarasipur date back to Assembly polls in 1989 when the latter defeated the former. He defeated Mr Deve Gowda again in Lok Sabha polls in 1999.
Mr Deve Gowda too had trounced Mr Puttaswamy Gowda in a couple of elections.
While Dr Suraj Revanna was campaigning for his father at A. Kalenahally, it was alleged that Congress workers were attacked by JD (S) workers. ON hearing about the attack Mr Shreyas Patel left for the village in his car but JD (S) workers hurled stones at his car and damaged the windshield. Besides, friends of Mr Shreyas who accompanied him to the village, also came under attack from JD(S) workers and mobiles phones were seized by them.
Meanwhile, a counter complaint was registered against Mr Shreyas Patel by a JD (S) worker.
