Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Monday extended by a month the deadline for applications to seek regularisation of notary lands in the city, following a request made by MLAs.

He said that the state government will regularise housing sites owned by poorer sections and provide them legal rights to construct houses, after regularisation is sought under GOs 58 and 59, by the end of May.

The Chief Minister appealed to the people to utilise the opportunity, asking them to meet their respective MLAs to discuss land-related issues, if any.

The Chief Minister also assured to resolve notary problems regarding agricultural lands, with a collectors’ conference to be held on the issue soon.

Chandrashekar Rao’s decision comes after a meeting with minister Ch Malla Reddy, MLCs Sheri Subhash Reddy and Naveen Kumar, MLAs Arikepudi Gandhi, Maganti Gopinath, Danam Nagender, Madhavaram Krishna Rao, Jajula Surender, Atram Sakku and Akbaruddin Owaisi (MIM) at the Secretariat.
